a departure, desistance, discontinuance, downtime, end, farewell, finish, freeze, furlough, goodbye, halt, halting, hiatus, intermission, interruption, interval, layoff, leave-taking, let-up, liberty, or:

parting (is such sweet sorrow), pause, recess, remission, respite, rest, retirement, sabbatical, standstill, stay, stop, stoppage, suspension, termination, time off, time-out, vacation, withdrawal
